From Proof of Concept to Visible Meta-Refractive Hybrid Optical System 2.0
MetaLenX Continues Iterating Visible Lenses
MetaLenX released the world’s first prototype lens of broadband achromatic meta-refractive hybrid optical system for visible light, demonstrating the positive effect of metalens in correcting chromatic aberrations and off-axis aberrations, marking the first step towards industrializing visible metalens. MetaLenX has continuously optimized the hybrid optical system. Compared to the first generation, the 2.0 version of the hybrid optical system shows sharper and clearer image and has been showcased at the National Metamaterials Conference and the Samsung Global Purchasing Fair. The 2.0 version of the hybrid optical system has achieved substantial improvements in a few months.
Exclusive Design of Metalens Coating
Presenting Clear and Sharp Images
MetaLenX has mastered the exclusive design and process of metalens coating. By coating on nanopillars, the stray light of the hybrid optical system is reduced and eliminated. Additionally, during the design of the nanostructures, different wavelength in the working band are distributed with dedicated design matching weights to ensure that the nanostructure group achieves optimal phase matching across the entire working band. As a result, the 2.0 version of the hybrid optical system produces clearer and sharper imaging.
Optimization of Nanopillar Etching Process
Further Upgrading the Mass Production Process Validation of Visible Meta-Refractive Hybrid Optical System
The recent optimization of the nanostructure etching process has significantly advanced the mass production process validation of the visible meta-refractive hybrid system. Specifically, process innovations can be seen in several aspects: first, the PDK for visible metalens which is CMOS-compatible has been optimized; secondly, alignment precision has been greatly improved for multilayer nanostructure , further improving the phase match between the nanostructures and the target phase; additionally, there has been a breakthrough in achieving high precision CD values for sub-100nm,deeper and wider etching ratios, thus effectively reducing load effects. These efforts have laid a solid foundation for the commercialization of the visible meta-refractive hybrid optical system.
Collaboration with Multiple End-User Manufacturers
Visible metalens set to soon be implemented in the Consumer Electronics and Automotive industries
MetaLenX has provided samples of hybrid optical systems to multiple end-user manufacturers and jointly developed products with them for several application scenarios. Metalens is lightweight, cost-effective, and has high optical efficiency. With the continuous iteration and mass production of MetaLenX’s hybrid optical system, MetalenX will further help end-user manufacturers get lighter and more cost-effective end products.
Further Enhancing Mass Production Line Construction
Building a Metalens Delivery Center at Huzhou
Currently, MetaLenX has established a thousand-square-meter metalens backend production line in Suzhou. The factory is divided into a micro-nano optical area, a refractive-lens area and an inspection area. All the areas are equipped with state-of-the-art machines and facilities. Additionally, the nearly ten-thousand-square-meter Metalens Mass Production Delivery Center is under rapid construction. This center is expected to begin production by the end of this year. Once completed, it will be the first metalens mass production delivery line in the country and even the world
In the future, MetaLenX will insist its spirit of extreme innovation, further accelerating the implementation and application of the hybrid optical systems in various fields. This will bring an imaging experience by thinner, lighter, and more cost-effective product to end-user consumers.
